Have You Tried Organic Matcha Green Tea Powder Yet?

I love green tea and since I’m really trying to be healthier in the new year and steer myself more towards teas I figured it made sense to try Kiss Me’s  Organic Matcha Green Tea.

They sent me a 4oz bag which I thought was great because I can actually test it out for almost a full month to see if I notice a difference in my energy levels or how I feel over all.

The recommended daily intake is about 1 teaspoon which means a 4oz bag last roughly 25 days.

I’m familiar with green tea but, I’d never heard of Organic Matcha. What is that?

Matcha is simply a finely milled or fine powder Japanese green tea.

Now that I knew what it was it was time to give it a try.

There are so many different ways to use the Matcha. Kiss Me offers a recipe book with each purchase that includes recipes for smoothies, French toast, cupcakes and more. Anything you eat can be made with Organic Matcha inside. They even have recipes for alcoholic drinks.

I decided to go with a simple recipe that’s included in their book called “Sparkling Matcha” . I drink seltzer water on a daily basis so it was the easiest recipe to incorporate in my day to day.

Sparkling Matcha
1 tsp. Matcha
4 ice cubes
2 tsp. warm water
¾ cup sparkling water
1 lime wedge

1. In a tall glass stir warm water and matcha until blended.
2. Add ice cubes to glass and slowly add sparkling water.
3. Stir until blended and squeeze lime wedge on top.
Makes 1 cocktail.

I enjoyed it. I didn’t add any sweetner because I generally like the taste of green tea but if you’re the type that takes sugar in your hot or cold tea then you might want to add some to this recipe.

Overall I felt really good after drinking the Organic Matcha. My energy level increased as I days went by.

I’m still in the process of completing the 25 days but so far so good.

Another great recipe is The Latte. I also want to try one of the many smoothie recipes that they list.

Crushed Ice

1 ½ oz. Rum

1. Add matcha, mint leaves, sugar and lime juice to the bottom of a glass and use a muddler to mix. Muddle until sugar is dissolved and you smell the mint.
2. Add ice to the glass then top with soda and rum.
3. Garnish with additional mint leaves if desired.
